After civil engineering studies in the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Frédéric Burnand leaned towards journalism. He became editor in chief of a newspaper, contributed to the creation of a new publication and trained interns before joining the Swiss national press agency ATS as a specialist of Western Switzerland business and politics.
Frédéric Burnand joined ftc communication in 2005 as a consultant. He took over the agency in 2008 and lead it alone until June 2011, when he partnered with Pierre-Alain Rattaz and François Huguenet. From 2013 until September 2021, he was the Communication Director and member of management of the Fédération Vaudoise des Entrepreneurs (the main professional association for the building industry in the Canton of Vaud). In January 2022, he was appointed to the position of project manager and Head of energy and environmental policy at the Centre Patronal, a position he holds alongside his activities with the agency.
Frédéric Burnand handles projects for private companies active in the fields of services or industry, professional associations and parapublic institutions.
In his private life, Frédéric Burnand is a board member of the Katia van Weel and Paderewski Foundations, committed to educating girls in Africa. More locally, after having presided the municipal council of his village or four years, he was elected to the Municipality in 2021 and now holds the office of vice-mayor.
